New Rosenbauer Engine
At the February 2010 FFPD Board of Directors meeting, a new Rosenbauer Fire Engine was approved for purchase. Funds used to purchase this fire engine were budgeted during the 2009-2010 cycle, and are included in the 5-year Long Term equipment replacement plan.
In the fire service, our apparatus are referred to as either a truck (for rescues, not firefighting, such as the Pierce Rescue 1) or an engine (for firefighting with water and hoses) or a tender (for carrying large volumes of water, such as the tender donated by Clear Channel in 2007). The new Rosenbauer truck will serve as an "ENGINE" in our Foothills Fire fleet.
The intial contract has been signed and key personnel from the Truck Committee will be traveling to the manufacturer the first week of April for a pre-construction consultation. Delivery is anticipated for the 4th quarter of 2010.
